Dr. John Kane is a diversified scholar with a focus on higher education administration and instruction. He enjoys a challenge, and is well versed in course development, distance learning and research.
In 2014 he completed his PhD at Franklin Pierce University where he conducted a full literature review, researched and analyzed original documents, and conducted over 175 interviews. His dissertation, The Last Seat in the House: The Story of Hanley Sound, developed into an extensive oral history on the early developments of live concert sound reinforcement. This massive body of work will result in a feature length documentary film, and book manuscript, both currently in production.
Dr. Kane brings his unique background in management and the arts to New Hampshire Institute of Art, where his experience researching and teaching various leadership, media and visual arts topics helps to inspire and inform his students.
