Atrium: February 1 – June 9, 2019
Opening Reception: Friday, March 8, 5-7pm
In his new installation, Christopher Patch celebrates the family of "Chiroptera," more commonly known as the bat. Commonly associated with horror stories, pests, and carriers of disease, bats play an enormous role in nature as pollinators and insect control. Each bat in the installation is constructed out of paper mache, acrylic, and watercolor, based on Patch’s observational field studies, and the animals hang suspended in flight in a great swarm across the Atrium window space.
