The New Hampshire Institute of Art Receives Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant
The New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA) is pleased to announce they have received a $30,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to support their Youth Arts Program.
NHIA’s Youth Arts Program, launching in the Fall of 2016, is a concrete expression of the college’s belief in the power of the arts to transform lives. The development of this program also represents a bold new commitment by the college to the city of Manchester, NH, where the college has been an integral part of the community culture for over 118 years.
“Today, we believe more passionately than ever that the college’s mission—“to educate, engage, and empower through the arts”—calls on us to actively connect with our community to create a more vibrant, creative, healthy, and economically sustainable Manchester,” said Kent Devereaux, President of NHIA. “We are extremely pleased and grateful that Lincoln Financial Foundation has joined us in making that vision a reality.”
Three Components of NHIA’s Youth Arts Program
Each piece is designed to increase access to and strengthen the quality of arts and design education in greater Manchester:
- A robust after-school youth arts program offered to all Manchester-based teens ages 12-18 and their families, regardless of ability to pay;
- A diverse array of one- and two-week-long summer arts day camps offered to teens and their families;
- An extensive in-school arts education program placing NHIA undergraduate and graduate art education students in local elementary, junior high, and senior high schools.
Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. This grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities’ youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.
