Teaching Philosophy
My works, and things I collect as inspiration, are influenced by the possibilities and limitations put on the maker by: materials used, skill, technique, and economic factors. This involves the study of simple forms, made to fulfill needs with an economy of effort. (For example: a tin oil lamp, forged spoon, or watering can). My concerns are with the introduction of line, proportion, and spatial relationships between parts, that begin to express gestures relating to plant, animal, and human attributes.
