Curriculum of Study
The New Hampshire Institute of Art Ceramics Certificate Program introduces students to the aesthetics, methods, and materials of ceramics. A series of required 12-week studio courses provide students with a solid foundation in either wheelworking or handbuilding. After the first three classes are completed, students will choose a path of handbuilding or wheelworking as their area of study. Four 12-week intermediate elective courses are required, based on each student’s focus in either handbuilding or wheelworking. All coursework must be completed in the assigned sequence and completed within four years from the date of enrollment. It is recommended that students take two courses per semester to complete the program within two years.
Below is the recommended sequence of required courses.
Please note: Courses may be offered in both the spring or fall and may not follow the semester order indicated.
