MANCHESTER, NH - The New Hampshire Institute of Art will congratulate 33 students who will be graduating from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program during the Commencement Ceremony to be held May 17, 2009 at 2 pm.
The graduates will receive their degrees following the Processional and Program, which will include an Invocation by Sister Regina Fahy and remarks by Roger Williams, President of the New Hampshire Institute of Art and Rick Strawbridge, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Patrick McCay, Academic Dean, will present scholarships and awards to this year's recipients and Cassandra Long, class of 2009, will present the Student Address. This year's Commencement guest speaker is Anthony Ryder, successful author, instructor, artist and founder of the Ryder Studio School, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Following the Commencement ceremony is the opening of the 2009 BFA Student Exhibition, which will showcase the work of the graduating class as well as undergraduates. Over 700 pieces of art will be exhibited and many will be for sale. The majority of the proceeds go directly to the students. The Annual Student Exhibition reception is open to the public.

The New Hampshire Institute of Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree along with non-credit continuing education and certificate programs. The New Hampshire Institute of Art is the only independent college of art in New Hampshire and Vermont and is nationally accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and is a candidate for accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
