Teaching Philosophy
Darryl Thompson, Master of Arts in American History, University of New Hampshire, has written, lectured, and published extensively on the Shakers and their role in American History. Darryl has taught public and private school, offering classes in History, Social Studies, Reading and English. He worked as an advisor and consultant on “Hands to Work, Hearts to God: The Shakers” for filmmaker Ken Burns. He is currently engaged in research for Burns on films about the National Park system and World War II. He currently works at Canterbury Shaker Village, where he has resided for thirty-one years.
