Graphic Design

The Graphic Design concentration at the New Hampshire Institute of Art combines the sensibilities and aesthetics of a fine arts program with the principles and practices of design. You will be equipped to meet the needs of a professional position within graphic design through disciplined training, while exploring the inherent social and cultural aspects of this growing field.

You will begin your foundation year with traditional fine arts courses, such as Drawing I and II, 2D and 3D Design, Color Theory, and Materials and Processes. Once fluent in the elements and principles of design, you will progress into an exploration of multiple graphic design topics - from web design, typography, publication and package design to motion graphics. All courses build upon each other to prepare you for your senior year when you will prepare a thematic body of work to be highlighted in our Annual Student Exhibition.
