HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT ANNUAL DRAWING EXHIBITION

MANCHESTER, NH - Eighteen students were awarded scholarship money at the Annual High School Drawing Exhibition reception on Saturday March 20, 2010 at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. The High School Drawing Exhibition is on display through April 11, 2010 in the French Building Gallery, 148 Concord Street.

The Drawing Exhibition serves as a nationwide-juried competition for High School students. This year's show consists of 100 pieces from 59 high schools in 15 states and was juried by artist Jeffrey Ellse. Ellse is a Drawing and Painting professor at the Art Institute of Boston.

More than $10,000 in Institutional Scholarships were awarded, including tuition scholarships to the Institute's BFA Degree Program and Pre-College Summer Program.

Exhibitions hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Art are free and open to the public. All Institute buildings are wheelchair accessible. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 12 Noon.
