Art Education Sample Schedule

The table below describes a typical schedule for students completing the certification program alongside their BFA. Applicants that intend to  apply to the Institute are advised to indicate their interest inearning teacher certification on their application. Accepted students formally enroll in the program at freshmen orientation. In order to maintain candidacy in the Art Educator preparation program, students must provide annual faculty evaluations, maintain a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA, successfully complete all early fieldwork, and earn passing scores on the Praxis I ™ and Praxis II ™ exams. Candidates are reviewed annually to ensure the readiness and quality of educators placed into the employment pool upon completion of the program.

  *Requirements listed are in addition to concentration and liberal arts requirements. Art Education candidates must complete at least 3 credits of studio studies in all disciplines outside their concentration. Candidates with a 3.3 GPA or higher may apply for one semester of culminating fieldwork. Candidates with studio minors will have art education coursework moved into the fifth year.
