This four-day course will include trips to local areas for photographic opportunities at the best time of day and subsequent class time for critiques and discussion. It begins with a first-morning "tech" session to insure that you know your way around your camera followed by days of shooting and processing images with a special "night shoot" included to study low light and long exposure photography. Techniques covered include: selective focus, shutter dragging for flash, light and highlight control, spot and center-weighted metering, mastering manual exposure mode, backlighting, interiors, night photography, panning, reflections, in-camera sharpness, saturation and color controls, white balance, color space, Live View techniques, raw processing, and output specs. All photos will be made in raw file format, and raw processing for great image control will be covered in classroom and critique time.
Prerequisite: PHO001, PHO004, or equivalent. Limit: 15
Tuition: $450
Lab Fee: $30
Materials: DSLR camera, memory cards, tripod, flash, laptop computer loaded with raw processing capable software (Photoshop or camera company software capable of processing raw image files from your camera).
