Curriculum of Study
The Interior Design Certificate Program provides instruction in the history, aesthetics, methods, materials, and business of interior design. A sequential series of required studio/lecture courses and workshops provides a solid foundation for students interested in applying interior design concepts. * “Drawing for Interior Design” should be taken before “Introduction to Interior Design,” or during the summer following the first year in the program.
Each academic year consists of two 15-week semesters offering course requirements, paired required workshops, and elective offerings. During the summer semester shorter required courses and electives are offered during May and June only.
To complete the program in three years students must take two, 15-week courses with paired required workshops per semester and two required summer courses. Students who elect to take one course and required workshop each semester must complete the program within 6 years. Note: Courses may be offered in both the spring or fall semester; however not all courses are offered every semester. Paired workshops are listed in italic.
