Teaching Philosophy
The foundation of my teaching philosophy is based on Gestalt Theory. It is the concept that we are all one and need to work together in order to achieve our goals and be successful. At the same time, it is important to recognize that each individual student is unique and possesses different styles and capabilities. It is my goal to assist students in any way that I can to achieve their dreams to become professional graphic designers. Teaching has granted me the gift of being able to integrate my philosophy with my profession and to be of service to others. It has allowed me to learn, to grow, and to share with others while I watch them learn and grow. Teaching has given me the opportunity to take part in many lives. As a benefit I have been able to share in the students’ disappointments and their successes, to share in their doubts about themselves and in their faith in themselves, and to share in their despair and in their joy. Working with students is the most rewarding experience anyone could have.
