Maureen Mills, a leading ceramic artist and Chairperson of the Institute’s Ceramics Department, has been creating works in clay for more than 25 years. For the past several years, she has been working in stoneware and porcelain, exploring the idea of contradiction through form and surface from the wood fired kiln. Having recently completed a book, Surface Design for Ceramics, she has been incorporating a broad variety of surface techniques into her current work.
