LIFE WORKS OF CHINESE ARTIST, FAN TCHUNPI, AT THE NEW HAMPSHIRE INSTITUTE OF ART

MANCHESTER, NH - The New Hampshire Institute of Art will exhibit Chinese artist Fan Tchunpi's (1898-1986) work from December 7, 2009 to January 21, 2010 at the Amherst Street Gallery, 77 Amherst Street. The Opening Reception will be held on December 7, 2009 from 5 pm to 7pm.

Fan Tchunpi studied European painting at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She returned to China to pass on European techniques and to learn the Chinese technique of painting with ink and color on paper. Tchunpi's artwork became a union of the artistic traditions of East and West. This exhibition will include photographs, artifacts and artwork from the life of Fan Tchunpi curated by her son, Meng Chi Tsen and daughter-in-law Sue Francis.
