Teaching Philosophy
The process itself has developed into the most significant aspect of my artwork. The interaction between my subject, my medium, and myself creates a spiral of energy that keeps me engaged with what I am producing. Even “unfinished” works have become important to me as I refer back to them repeatedly, realizing their value as pieces that inform me about the process of that particular image on many levels. At times a fully completed work, though a beautiful culmination of its total process, becomes a mask, concealing the fascination of the journey.
