Scheduling Conferences & Appointments

Students sign up for Academic Support Center conferences to discuss many kinds of assignments, including:

  • Narrative, persuasive, literary analysis, and research essays
  • Art history papers
  • Short stories and poems
  • Oral presentations for studio arts classes
  • Capstone papers
  • Internship applications, study abroad proposals, and resumes
  • Artist statements

After your conference with the Academic Support Center Director or a Peer Tutor, we will give you a Academic Support Center Instructor Report that you may choose to give to your teacher. NHIA faculty generally appreciate the chance to see what you have been working on, and also appreciate knowing that you have sought help to strengthen your work.

Making Appointments

Though we can often accommodate drop-ins, students with appointments take priority. It is especially important to schedule appointments in advance during midterms, advising, and finals. To make an appointment, email The ASC or call 603-836-2581. Please include your phone number and the times you are available to meet. When you come to a conference, bring your assignment, your texts, your paper, and any other materials that will help us to help you. (If you cannot make a conference, please cancel as soon as possible, so someone else may take your time slot.)

No appointment is required to use our Mac computers, equipped with the Microsoft Office Suite, the Adobe Creative Suite, and the Kurzweil 3000 software, which translates written text into Mp3 files. In addition, we provide Internet access and full access to the Teti Library databases.
