Transfer students at the New Hampshire Institute of Art find themselves in a world focused on bringing you to new heights as an artist. While conventional colleges and universities only allow roughly one third of your credits to come from studio courses, at NHIA two-thirds of your education will take place in the studio, working on your craft. You’ll be immersed in a diverse, passionate community of artists, writers and art educators, all of whom share a deep respect for the challenges and the excitement of the art-making process. Our location in downtown Manchester, NH, puts you in the heart of the thriving culture of New England, only an hour’s drive from Boston.
An NHIA education is also an exceptional value, with tuition $10,000 to $20,000 lower than at other comparable private art colleges. Undergraduate transfer students may be eligible for a range of special scholarships. Please visit our financial aid page for more information.
We welcome transfer applications from nontraditional students and the diversity of experiences they bring into our studios. We also offer up to nine credits to students with exceptional life or work experience, documented by art work, exhibition history, published or unpublished writings.
